Back to School (2012-2013)

The new school year has started. This means new themes and new students. We want to welcome our new student, Jacob, to Pre- K. Our theme this school year will be "cities". Each month we will post the city we are learning about. This month it is New York city. The children loved making their own Empire State building out of clay. They were also introduced to the Statue of Liberty. They learned about how she was made, who gave her as a gift to the USA and what her purpose was.
The students are being asked( with parents help)  to make a "Star Student of The Week poster". This is a fun project for you as well as for us. We get to learn more about your child. They will be displayed in the school building.
The weather is changing outside so Please dress your child accordingly. We want them to be comfortable when we take them outside to play.
Swim trips will be starting soon once we have the dates we will let know.
A "BIG Thank You" to all of you for being on top of the paper work that had to be returned to the school. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. This will be a fun and educational year for you child.

Dates to Remember:

June 2012

We  made it to the end of the school year. It is very bitter sweet for us who work with your children every day. We have six students moving on this year. Three are moving up to Kindergarten in our school district and three are moving back to their  own school district to Kindergarten. This  is the goal we want them to reach but its always sad for us to see them go. Good Luck boys!!!!

Our theme for this month is "Buggy" and Eric Carle ( Author). The kids are loving this theme. We made bugs using tissue paper, trying to use the process Eric Carle uses for illustrations in his books. We also watched " The Bee movie" and "A Bug's Life".  Enjoy your summer and we'll see you back for summer school for those who are attending.
